Cairo Library Feature Lighting Installation
Overview
This project is part of our library lighting design work in Cairo, where the goal was to create a modern and artistic lighting element that acts as both decoration and functional illumination. The space features a high ceiling and an open architectural layout, making it the perfect environment for a suspended lighting installation that enhances the atmosphere without overwhelming the interior design.
The final result was a floating light sculpture that adds movement, depth, and identity to the space while maintaining a clean and contemporary look.

Lighting Concept & Design
The lighting concept was based on creating a continuous “floating line” effect, shaped organically across the ceiling. This type of installation required both design planning and careful execution to achieve the desired form while ensuring stability and long-term performance.
Using a combination of 24mm silicone LED tubing and a custom suspension layout, we achieved a smooth glowing effect that complements the space’s modern interior, artwork walls, and seating arrangement.

- Silicone Tube 24mm for smooth diffusion and uniform light output
- 24V LED Strip (120 LED/m, 9W/m) for stable and efficient performance
- Hanging Wire System for safe ceiling suspension and clean installation
Installation Details
The silicone tube was carefully shaped on site to follow the required flowing pattern. Inside the tube, we installed a high-density 120 LED/m LED strip operating on a safe 24V system. The diffusion of the silicone ensured a continuous light line effect with no harsh glare.
The full installation was suspended using a network of thin hanging wires to maintain a floating appearance while keeping the structure stable and aligned. This method allowed the lighting to integrate naturally into the ceiling without heavy visual support elements.
Final Result
The completed installation created a strong visual identity for the library and elevated the space with a modern artistic atmosphere. The suspended light sculpture became a key feature element, enhancing the interior experience while providing comfortable ambient lighting.
